March 9, 2010.
When Lady Gaga premiered her Living Firefly Dress on UK television’s Friday Night with Jonathan Ross March 5, 2010, it wasn’t the first time her fans had seen the fabulous animated Haus of Gaga creation. She actually introduced the Hussein Chalayan inspired outfit at her always fresh Monster Ball Tour concert in Liverpool England on January 24, 2010, to the delight of thousands of screaming Little Monster fans.

Earlier that day, Lady Gaga had tweeted, “2nite Haus of Gaga debuts ‘the living dress’ inspired by Hussein Chalayan, as a fashion moment to be performed in ‘pop show’ at Monster ball. Watch very closely as the magical angel and I are swallowed by the rainbow twister, and left stranded on the Glitter Way.”

Today, we bring you a sparkling montage of photos and videos highlighting the ethereal outfit, as well as pictures and clips of Lady Gaga’s funny interview and inspired performances of “Telephone” and “Brown Eyes” on BBC One’s popular show Friday Night with Jonathan Ross. We’ve been working on this post for some time. As we’ve said before, we may not be the first to post but we are definitely the most comprehensive. Enjoy!

Here is a review of Lady Gaga’s appearance on Friday Night with Jonathan Ross from The Daily Mail: LADY GAGA ON JONATHAN ROSS , published March 3, 2010:

Lady Gaga is not about to tone down her style any time soon after claiming she would ‘rather die’ than dress down. The outrageous star lived up to her reputation as she went through four costume changes for a television appearance and then denied that she dressed for effect and publicity, and insisted she was just being herself.

Echoing Victoria Beckham’s statement, the Bad Romance singer said she would always wear heels as she appeared on Friday Night with Jonathan Ross.

Picture of Lady Gaga on Jonathan Ross singing her hit song, "Telephone," the video of which is set to be released this coming Thursday, March 11, 2010 on E! News at midnight EST and on VEVO and the official Lady Gaga website at 12.30am. (More info at the base of this post). Spiked feathered PVC corset and studded boots by Keko Hainswheeler. Calling card: Lady Gaga themed her outfits around telephones on Friday Night with Jonathan Ross, as a “subtle” reminder her single “Telephone” is out now. She appeared in several costumes including, for her performances of “Telephone” and “Brown Eyes,” a bright white, spiky dress which gave her the appearance of a snowflake, and a PVC-studded corset with knee-high boots with feathered shoulders.

In the green room, where celebrities gather to watch the show before they are interviewed, she wore an elaborate PVC hat with a veil and telephone on top. She then changed again for the interview with Mr Ross into high perspex heels, a shiny trouser suit which showed her black bra, and gloves.

Ever the publicist (her single "Telephone," featuring Beyonce, is out now), she added another telephone hat to the ensemble. The singer told Mr Ross she loved to dress up and would not be changing her ways anytime soon.

“I would rather die than have my fans not see me in a pair of high heels,” she said. “I’d never give up my wigs and hats for anything. You see legendary people taking out their trash, I think it’s destroying show business. I feel completely detached from the celebrity world, you never see me falling out of nightclubs.”

Closeup picture of Lady Gaga's clear acrylic shoes, which were designed by none other than Armani Prive'. 3-5-10 photo.

And she denied that she dresses for effect. “Be whatever you want to be, it’s not about emulating me .. it’s all right to be different.”

She also admitted that she was bereft after the death of her friend, the designer Alexander McQueen. “He was the kindest human being,” she said. “I feel left with nobody to inspire me any more.”

And she added that she had “no friends” in the music industry and even claimed to be shunned by other stars, despite many turning up to watch her recent performances at the O2 Arena in London. “I didn’t speak to anyone at the BRITS,” she said. “I’m an outcast from the music industry, I don’t have any friends in the music business.”

But the 23-year-old – real name Stefani Germanotta -told how she was more accepted in the UK than at home in the U.S. “People in Britain are the ones who’ve really been my friends,” she said, adding “There is no greater lady than the Queen.” She performed for Her Majesty at the Royal Variety Performance in December.

Lady Gaga also shot down rumours that she had reunited with her ex Matthew Williams – her creative director who she dated before she became famous. She was spotted cradling his 10-month-old son, named Cairo, on a recent trip, which is said to have infuriated his ex Erin Hirsch.

But the singer told the show that she is single and does not have time for a relationship. “I don’t have time to get to know anybody, I’m single and alone .. nobody would put up with my craziness.” END. Watch Friday Night With Jonathan Ross 10.35 pm Fridays on BBC One if you live in England.

The NY Post ran this interesting article 2-25-10: Lady GaGa wins best & worst dressed at the same award show! by Jarett Wieselman:

It's one thing to win conflicting awards at different events -- like how Sandra Bullock could snag Best Actress at the Oscars and Worst Actress at the Razzies -- but it's quite another to see the same awarding entity bestow conflicting statuettes on one person in the same year.

But if anyone is going to buck the norm, it's Lady Gaga! Last night the most exciting thing in music right now won Best Dressed at the UK’s New Musical Express (NME) Awards. Then, moments later, she also snagged Worst Dressed. Somehow we think winning both awards means more to La Ga than snagging either on its own would.

From NME.com here’s an official report on the winners/losers: Lady Gaga wins Best and Worst Dressed Shockwaves NME Awards. Fans vote both ways for 'Poker Face' star's outrageous dress sense. Published February 25, 2010:

Lady Gaga has been revealed as winner of both the Best Dressed and Worst Dressed awards at the Shockwaves NME Awards tonight (February 24). NME.COM users voted for the singer, who recently appeared onstage for her 'Monster Ball Tour' dressed as PVC-wrapped nun and a tasselled lampshade, in both categories.

In the Best Dressed group she won ahead of nominees Yeah Yeah Yeahs singer Karen O, Florence And The Machine's Florence Welch, ex-Oasis star Liam Gallagher and The Mighty Boosh's Noel Fielding. In the Worst Dressed category she was voted 'winner' ahead of nominees Katy Perry, La Roux's Elly Jackson, Muse frontman Matt Bellamy and Liam Gallagher.

The ceremony took place at the O2 Academy Brixton in London. NME.COM and NME Radio were live from the Shockwaves NME Awards. Keep checking NME.COM/awards for news reports, photo galleries, video interviews, backstage blogs and more.

The following article was published on gaganews.com on February 23, 2010: LADY GAGA IS ‘THE NEW MADONNA!’ MOVE over Madonna, Lady Gaga is ready to be crowned the new Queen of Pop. By Ryan Lee Johnson:

The 23-year-old kooky singer Lady Gaga has stormed the charts here and in America, with sales of more than 8million records, as well as scooping two Grammys and three BRIT Awards.

In the 14 months since her debut single “Just Dance” topped the charts, it’s not only her catchy tunes that have captured fans’ imagination. She wowed us with outrageous outfits which range from high fashion couture to downright bonkers creations.

Speaking of outfits, here's a picture of the wild one Adam Lambert wore to peform "For Your Entertainment" at the 2010 Sydney Mardi Gras in Australia early Sunday morning. Not sure who the designer is but it looks like the work of Keo Hainswheeler to us. See more photos and videos on our post: ADAM LAMBERT HEATS UP MARDI GRAS 2010 SYDNEY AUSTRALIA. 3-7-10 photo.

But as she kicks off an eagerly anticipated UK tour, Gaga says her style is artistic, rather than sexy. “The last thing a young woman needs is another picture of a sexy popstar writhing in sand, covered in grease, touching herself,” she says. “My image was an issue at my record label. I fought for months, and I cried at meetings. I got criticized for being arrogant because if you’re sure of yourself as a woman they say you’re a bitch, whereas if you’re a man and you’re strong willed, it’s normal.”

So instead of skimpy dresses Gaga wears creations such as a coat made solely of Kermit The Frog dolls, a lightbulb-festooned catsuit and a face obliterating black PVC gimp mask. And it has paid off. Last December’s Royal Variety Performance saw her performing for the Queen atop a 13ft spindle-legged piano wearing a scarlet latex number.

But it’s not just her outfits that have been shrouded in controversy. Her gender hit the headlines last year when an internet blogger claimed the “Lady” was in fact a man, or a hermaphrodite. The rumor was false, but Gaga is now desperate to confront her fans on the subject once and for all. She wants to make an explicit sexual statement in a photoshoot, the details of which are a bit too graphic at the breakfast table. Trust me.

She adds: “We all know it was one of the biggest talking points of the year so why not give them what they want? I want to comment on that in a artistic way – that would be a real f***ing story, right?”

But behind the flamboyance, she is an average girl with traditional all-American family values. Born Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta to Italian American parents in New York in 1986, she learned to play the piano at the age of four. Her school life was “very dedicated, very studious, very disciplined” but also “a bit insecure.”

She explains: “I used to get made fun of for being either too provocative or too eccentric, so I started to tone it down. I didn’t fit in and I felt like a freak. But this is really who I am, and it took a long time to be OK with that.”

“So nowadays I like to create this atmosphere for my fans where they feel like they have a freak in me to hang out with and they don’t feel alone. The whole point of what I do – The Monster Ball, the music, the performance aspect of it – I want to create a space for my fans where they can feel free and they can celebrate.”

The rise to fame was not easy. Stephani worked as a waitress before getting signed to Def Jam records at the age of 19 when a music executive heard her singing in a corridor. She played gigs at downtown New York venues but with long dark hair and understated make-up she was almost unrecognisable from her persona today.

But she met producer Rob Fusari who invented her stage name, and introduced her to her current label, Sony.

She wrote tracks for label mates Britney Spears and the Pussycat Dolls, supplementing her income as a burlesque dancer in Lady Gaga and the Starlight Revue. By late 2008 she had given up her party lifestyle and moved to LA to work on debut album, The Fame. But she dreams of being a wife and mother.

Gaga says: ‘I am a very sentimental person and family is important to me. In eight to 10 years, I want to have babies for my Dad to hold, grandkids. “I want to have a husband who loves and supports me, just the way anyone else does.” But for now she’s happy to continue working towards world domination. Gaga adds: “I live out of a suitcase, but I love what I do – I’ve worked my whole life to live like this.” END.

From Vh1’s blog thefablife.com comes this article LADY GAGA TO TEAM UP WITH DONATELLA VERSACE? 2-24-20. Check it out:

Lady Gaga is reportedly set to launch her own clothing line. The Poker Face hitmaker is apparently planning to team up with designer Donatella Versace for an eccentric fashion range. “I’d love to have my own collection,” Gaga said. “It’s something I want to accomplish. I find Donatella a fashion icon and in many ways fashion and music go together.”

“Gaga is a workaholic,” a source added. “She is always coming up with new ideas. “The death of Alexander McQueen really affected her. “She’s always loved fashion and it just seems natural for her to create her own collection.”

Gaga recently revealed she likes to dress in a way her fans can easily replicate. “When it comes to fashion I always need to keep my fans in mind,” she said. “I need to, whether I am wearing something that is high fashion and was on a catwalk last week or a leather jacket I picked up at a vintage store, I need to create things and wear things that my fans can replicate in some way.”
END. (Editor’s note: We’d love to see Little Monsters copy the Living Dress!)

Big congratulations are in order for Lady Gaga who just landed on the Diamond Highway. Her debut album The Fame has sold over 10,000,000 copies worldwide since its release in 2008. This is a major compliment for Gaga as in today’s climate music doesn’t sell. It’s mostly stolen. Her new album The Fame Monster is already Double Platinum, so her success continues to grow and grow. Way to go, Gaga!

After failing to debut on Monday as originally promised, here’s the latest news on Lady Gaga and Beyoncé’s upcoming video. “Telephone” will premiere on E! News this coming Thursday (3-11-10) at 11:30/10:30C. A half hour later, it will be uploaded to VEVO. Read the tweet after the pic:

The latest photo to be released from Lady Gaga and Beyonce's upcoming video "Telephone." It looks like there will be a smorgasbord of shirtless dancers! Video capture picture.

Tweeted by VEVO on 3-7-10: "Telephone" by @LadyGaga and Beyoncé premieres online at midnight Thurs night (Fri 12AM EST) on VEVO! But since the main VEVO website’s videos are slow and jerky, we recommend you check Lady Gaga’s VEVO YouTube page, as it is reportedly going to be posted there as well. However, we have to warn you that since VEVO began its ungodly assimilation of YouTube, even the quality of the VEVO videos there has diminished significantly.

UPDATE! The "Telephone" video will also be posted on the official Lady Gaga website at 12:30am Friday morning, so go there instead of VEVO! More details and pics were just posted on the site, so check it out!

Personally, after all the damage VEVO has done to fan blog archives by callously blocking older official videos, we are boycotting VEVO (#boycottvevo) and will publish the new video either on Photobucket or MTV formats, leaving behind VEVO’s distracting and irritating ads, not to mention the stop and start quirkiness of their videos. We informed Gaga about how much her fans hate VEVO, but apparently she never got the memo!

After a bit of searching we discovered this video of a commercial on E! News saying the Lady Gaga/ Beyoncé “Telephone” video will premiere during the E! News broadcst this coming Thursday (3-11-10) at 11:30/10:30C:

Last Thursday, 3-4-10, the dancers on MTV's America’s Best Dance Crew (ABDC), performed routines inspired by Lady Gaga. The wildly eclectic artist’s music videos gave the contenders a chance to really showcase their creativity, although we must say most were disappointing in that they failed to capture the magic of Lady Gaga fashions. The best were performances by Blueprint Cru and Hype 5.0, videos of which you can watch at the bottom of this page.
