Lindsay recently admitted the couple's relationship was volatile and she was unsure how long it would last. “I am so in love with Sam but the truth is neither of us can ever stop arguing with one another. I wake up every morning and despite being more in love with Sam than I have been with anyone in the past, in all honesty I don't know if we'll still be together by the time we go to bed.”

Poor persecuted former Miss California Carrie Prejean has signed a deal with a conservative book press, Regnery Publishing, to write a "tell-all" about her struggle against people who believe in equal rights. The manuscript, to be ghost written (naturally), will be called Still Standing, and will chronicle her ordeal of being stripped of her title “because of her stance against gay marriage,” even through her replacement holds the same beliefs.

Regnery has published works by such illustrious wordsmiths as Newt Gingrich, Laura Ingraham, Meg Meeker, and Ollie North. The book is due to be released in November, so somebody needs to get busy, busy, busy and stop bitching, bitching, bitching.

Gay Kiss-In held near the Salt Lake City Mormon Temple photo

To protest the arrest (for trespassing) of two gay men for kissing on a plaza near a Mormon Church Temple in Salt Lake City a couple of weeks ago, a third Kiss-In was held near the Temple on Sunday. The demonstration drew a crowd of about 100 participants, according to the Associated Press, as well as a group of "faithful Mormon" counter-protesters. Police say no one was arrested or cited, despite a large group exchanging kisses by a reflecting pool at the plaza's center. The church bought one block of Salt Lake City's Main Street to build a plaza in the 1990s alongside the Temple, where Mormon marriages and other religious rituals take place.

Matt Aune has said he and his partner, Derek Jones, exchanged a modest kiss at the plaza 11 days ago, but church officials contend their behavior was lewd.

In a statement released Friday, the Mormon Church claimed "there was much more involved than a simple kiss on the cheek. The men engaged in passionate kissing, groping, profane and lewd language, and had obviously been using alcohol."

Another Kiss-In to protest the arrests was planned in San Diego California for today.

British vocalists Adele and Leona Lewis, American Idol winner Kelly Clarkson, and teen star Miley Cyrus will follow in the footsteps of the likes of Celine Dion, Whitney Houston, and Mariah Carey, by headlining this year’s show, which will air live from the Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM) Howard Gilman Opera House in Brooklyn, New York on Thursday, Sept. 17 @ 9/8c.

The White House rescheduled Obama's 9 pm prime time conference set for tonight after NBC said they would show Susan Boyle instead. The stakes were apparently too high for NBC, which airs the most-watched program of the summer, America's Got Talent, at 9 p.m. This week, the reality hit includes a heavily promoted interview with Britain's Got Talent singing sensation Susan Boyle. Sources said that NBC demonstrated reluctance to carry Obama's news conference live. Faced with the prospect of only one or two major broadcasters -- CBS and ABC -- covering the event, the White House moved its start time to 8 p.m.

Galaxy "fans" hold up anti-Beckham signs during soccer game photo

Soccer icon David Beckham was nearly involved in an ugly confrontation with a Los Angeles Galaxy fan during a match against AC Milan. The athlete was playing at home for the first time since returning to the Galaxy on Sunday, July 19, when he was jeered by the Riot Squad, a vocal contingent in the 27,000 sell-out crowd, at the Home Depot Center Stadium.

The “fans” were apparently upset over his six-month loan to AC Milan during the first half of the Major League Soccer season. Some in the crowd held up derisive banners, “Go Home Fraud!” among them.

Beckham was visibly annoyed at the frequent booing. At halftime, he approached the stands and gestured at one of the jeerers, who jumped onto the field before being hauled away by security. The man has been banned from the stadium for life. Oh, by the way, the game ended in a tie, 2-2, with Beckham making both Galaxy goals.

The Watergate Hotel, which gained international notoriety by a scandal which led to the resignation of U.S. president Richard Nixon, has failed to attract any bids at auction, even though several overseas hotel chains had previously expressed interest in the landmark. The lender took it back, as it has a $40 million note against it.

A 30-day foreclosure notice expired Thursday and hotel owner Monument Realty defaulted when it couldn’t be sold. The Watergate Hotel has remained empty since it closed in 2007 for multi-million-dollar renovations. The hotel has been neglected for years and needs $100 million in repairs, developers told The Washington Post.

Reuters reported July 20, 2009 that German police uncovered over 1,000 pairs of underpants and more than 100 pairs of swimming trunks after catching a thief nabbing another three pairs for his collection. The 46-year-old man was caught Sunday pinching three pairs of pants from a sports hall in the western town of Gelnhausen. Police then came across the enormous collection of underwear while searching his flat. "They were all evidently in use, but had been washed and neatly stacked away," a police spokesman said Monday. Police are now investigating where all the underwear came from. The suspect claims to have acquired them from car-boot sales and over the Internet.

The Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission administrator Alan Steen, has apologized for the raid on the gay Rainbow Lounge in Fort Worth, Texas, saying that the agency clearly committed "multiple violations" and that an "excessive show of force" was used during the incident. Steen also said the supervisor directly responsible for the two agents announced his retirement last week in the wake of the raid amid an ongoing internal investigation.

Steen said if the two agents, who are on desk duty pending the outcome of the investigation, sought approval from the supervisor before the Rainbow Lounge inspection, it shouldn’t have been granted. The agents were accompanied by six Fort Worth police officers. Steen said he doesn’t think there was sufficient cause for the inspection, which apparently was based on the fact that one person had been arrested for public intoxication at the Rainbow Lounge June 25. The Administrator also indicated that the eight law enforcement officers and the paddy wagon that were present likely constituted an excessive show of force.

There’ll be a new gay dramedy come next Valentine’s Day starring Jim Carey and Ewan McGregor that promises to be verrrrrrrrrry interesting. Probably the most controversial film from this January’s Sundance Film Festival, I Love You Phillip Morris, features Jim Carey kissing Ewan McGregor, among—ahem!—other things. Jim Carey plays a crooked Texas cop who lands himself in prison. Once there, he realizes he's gay and falls in love with the sensitive and romantic Phillip Morris (Ewan McGregor). Early buzz on this movie has been strong.
