Religious bigots never die; they simply rear up their dogmatic heads to bite you in the ass once their fame starts to fade. With numerous outrageous allegations, including one that she was set-up by Miss California USA pageant co-directors Keith Lewis and Shanna Moakler to appear nude in Playboy for $120,000 just so they could fire her, Carrie Prejean filed a lawsuit yesterday, claiming discrimination, libel, and slander. The grievance also accuses pageant officials of telling her to stop mentioning God long before her discriminating remarks against gay marriage offended nearly everyone involved in the beauty pageant industry.
In case you’ve forgotten, during the Miss USA Pageant in Las Vegas on April 20, 2009, Miss California, Carrie Prejean, answered a question from judge Perez Hilton about legalizing same-sex marriage. "We live in a land where you can choose same-sex marriage or opposite marriage," Prejean said. "And you know what, I think in my country, in my family, I think that I believe that a marriage should be between a man and a woman. No offense to anybody out there, but that's how I was raised." Prejean was named first runner-up, and many believe she lost her shot at the Miss USA crown because of her answer.
Not only was it a bigoted AND offensive answer, it was factually incorrect. We do NOT live in a country where we can choose same-sex marriage, thanks largely in part to religious homophobes like Carrie Prejean who support denominations who spend their vast resources to see that laws continue to discriminate against homosexuals in most states across America. This goes on despite laws providing for the separation of church and state.

Her attorney, Chuck LiMandri, said it’s untrue that she missed scheduled events and stated Prejean was ousted in June solely because of her remarks that marriage should be between a man and a woman. "There were no contract violations," he said. Pageant officials have compiled a list of over 50 appearances Prejean defaulted on, yet her attorney claims there is no such evidence.
The suit also claims Moakler and Lewis improperly revealed that Miss California USA paid for Prejean's breast implants, but failed to show the fine print saying that boob jobs are to be kept secret.

Prejean is also suing publicist Roger Neal, who handles press for Miss California USA and Lewis. The lawsuit goes on to accuse Lewis, Moakler and Neal of using Internet sites, including Facebook and Twitter, to post disparaging remarks about Prejean.
The paperwork does not name Donald Trump, who owns Miss California USA's parent organization and who in May refused to fire Prejean, a decision he reversed a month later.
The complaint does not specify a specific dollar figure but states she has been subject to public ridicule and humiliation and lost out on modeling work because her crown was withdrawn. She has also suffered anxiety, depression and loss of sleep since her firing, the lawsuit states.
Oh, the poor girl! I wonder how many gay youngsters have suffered the same symptoms because bigots like her continue to oppress, humiliate, and defame homosexuals.
