CONSERVATIVES BLIND-SIDED BY OBAMA'S EDUCATION SPEECH! 3 VIDEOS!

September 8, 2009.
Republican critics, who use every excuse they can to derail President Barack Obama in his quest to heal this country, are surely feeling like fools, after the President gave his inspirational speech to encourage children to stay in school today.

Railing that Obama's talk was an excuse to indoctrinate and politicize innocent school kids, ultra-conservatives went so far as to claim he was trying to foist his pro-gay and pro-abortion rights agenda upon unsuspecting students. But the text of his far-from-controversial speech proves without a doubt that no such accusations were warranted. The blockade was instead simply another attempt by right-wing zealots to thwart the President in carrying out his duties. They have made no secret, via their main spokesman, Rush Limbaugh, that they “hope he fails.”

Photo of President Obama addressing the NAACP July 20, 2009, when he said, "Our gay brothers and sisters (are) still taunted, still attacked, still denied their rights. On the 45th anniversary of the Civil Rights Act, discrimination must not stand," much to the chagrin of many Republicans.

Indeed, thinly disguised racism is the obvious agenda of the vocal ultra-conservatives in their mission to bring down our legitimately elected President. While they try to hide it, anyone with a brain can see their attempts to topple our articulate and compassionate leader are simply the spoils of old-fashioned hate.

Conservatives also can't stand it that President Obama has chosen to recognize the work of LGBT activists, as in this August 12, 2009 photo, when he awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom to lesbian tennis legend, Billie Jean King. He also gave gay politician Harvey Milk one posthumously. Read about that ceremony and watch the videos from that day here.

Well, guess what? It’s not going to work. Just because Republicans can’t bear it that a white man is not in charge of this country doesn’t give them the right to block our brilliant President’s every move. This is the new America and the sun is shining! Homophobic racist white males are no longer in charge. Get used to it!

Right-wing racists also failed in their attempt to thwart the appointment of the first Latina, Sonia Sotomayor, to the U.S. Supreme Court. Ironically, she began her new job today. The victorious, empathetic woman is pictured here with President Obama.

"I'm calling on each of you to set your own goals for your education—and to do everything you can to meet them," Obama said to the school children via the so-called “controversial” education speech, the text of which is available in full at www.whitehouse.gov, or you can simply watch it first hand in the video at the bottom of this post. "Whatever you resolve to do," the President continued, "I want you to commit to it. I want you to really work at it."

Photo of conservative Fox News pundit, Glenn Beck, tearing his hair out, something he's probably doing again today after he failed to ambush President Barack Obama's speech to school children. Learn more about Glenn Beck here.

"But at the end of the day," Obama remarked, "we can have the most dedicated teachers, the most supportive parents and the best schools in the world—and none of it will matter unless all of you fulfill your responsibilities."

Photo of Rush Limbaugh, ultra-right wing commentator, smoking a cigar, demonstrating how out of touch he is with the world today. Thank goodness school kids aren't trying to emulate him! Find more information on Limbaugh here.

Obama also told students they should keep trying to do things they believe in—even if they are not victorious at first.

"Some of the most successful people in the world are the ones who've had the most failures," Obama said. "J.K. Rowling's first Harry Potter book was rejected 12 times before it was finally published. Michael Jordan was cut from his high school basketball team . . . These people succeeded because they understand that you can't let your failures define you—you have to let them teach you."

Cartoon depicting Rush Limbaugh's hypocrisy. While he spoke harshly in public about drug users, he was busy hiding his own addiction to Oxycontin.

The words of the President's oratory are hardly the indoctrinations of a “socialist” politician. My advice to the right wing: Lighten up! You’re living on the fringes of truth and justice because you are unable to accept progress. You’re too busy drowning in the cesspool of racism and bigotry. Oh, and by the way, you lost the election. Get over it!

Finally but most importantly, listen in full to President Obama’s historic inspirational speech to American children today (September 8, 2009) at Wakefield High School in Arlington, Virginia. He tells students about his schooling while urging them to work hard and commit to their education.:
