Sorry to sound like a same ol’ same ol’ by talking about Brüno again, but save for his antics, it’s been a rather slow news weekend, if you don’t count the religious violence in Iran, the Much Music Video Awards in Toronto, and Republican hypocrisy here at home.

Sacha Baron Cohen brought Brüno to Amsterdam on Friday, June 19. He transformed the city's legal prostitution area into a Pink Light District as part of a promotional stint for the Dutch premiere of the Brüno movie.

He arrived on a jet ski in a cropped suit with his red thong showing and climbed up a ladder to shore. "For too long, guys coming here from around the world have been forced to have sex with women. It gives me great pleasure to declare Amsterdam's Pink Light District officially open for business," he declared, while cutting a pink ribbon as a bevy of nearly naked muscular black men appeared in brothel doorways.

Then on Sunday, June 21, he showed up at Brandenburg Gate in Berlin dressed in a pink suit complete with nipples, a penis, and public hair, which some bloggers mistakingly called a “pig suit,” although I'm still not sure what it was supposed to be! Hilarious is all I know!

He was overheard saying, “What I’m trying to undo tonight is the badness done by that film Milk, which has really set the gay community back 20 years with that terrible stereotype. It stars Sean Penn, who isn’t even gay.”

Finally there’s news about T.R. Knight’s post Grey’s Anatomy plans. He just announced he’ll star in a Los Angeles production of the Tony award-winning show Parade. “I am very fortunate to return to the theater playing Leo Frank in this incredible, acclaimed production of Parade,” the actor said in an interview with the Los Angeles Times. “After a five-year break, it feels great to be on stage again.” Knight will begin the stint on September 24 at the Mark Taper Forum.
Joan Rivers told the gay newspaper Out Front Colorado she has two new television shows in the works. TV Land’s How’d You Get So Rich? hosted by the star will premiere Thursday, August 6 at 9 pm ET/PT. The legendary comedienne takes viewers on a journey to meet millionaires who struck gold as she tours lavish and extravagant homes and introduces them to folks who “made a lot of money in interesting ways.” She’s also set for a Comedy Central Roast August 9. I can’t wait! Read the entire interview here.
