HILLARY VOWS TO FIGHT FOR GAY RIGHTS! NEW HAMPSHIRE LEGALIZES GAY MARRIAGE!

US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton vowed Monday, June 1, 2009, to fight for gay rights, calling for all nations to stop violence and discrimination based on sexual orientation. "The persecution of gays and lesbians is a violation of human rights and an affront to human decency, and it must end," she said. "As secretary of state, I will advance a comprehensive human rights agenda that includes the elimination of violence and discrimination against people based on sexual orientation or gender identity." She noted that the Obama Administration supports a UN resolution calling for the worldwide decriminalization of homosexuality, which remains punishable by death in seven countries ; Iran, Mauritania, Nigeria, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, the United Arab Emirates and Yemen. New Hampshire Governor John Lynch signing gay marriage rights bill 6-3-09 photo

Democratic Governor John Lynch signed a new law yesterday making New Hampshire the sixth state to legalize same sex marriage. Lynch, who had up to now only been in favor of civil unions, said he had listened to “compelling arguments that a separate system is not an equal system. Today, we are standing up for the liberties of same sex couples by making clear that they will receive the same rights, responsibilities, and respect, under New Hampshire law.” Right on!
