It turns out there is someone who can bend it better than Beckham, after all! Cristiano Ronaldo, the world’s most beautiful football/soccer star, who has a penchant for running around bare-chested in short shorts, was just consensually traded by the Manchester United team in England to Real Madrid of Spain for a record $131,000,000 (£80,000,000). If only I had $132 million, I would surely have outbid them, as ever since the international sports celebrity was spotted playing around with Paris Hilton a couple of days ago, I’ve been enamored of the man.

Paris, by the way, denies the romance, saying, “We’re just friends.” If that’s true, it either means Ronaldo is gay as a goose or Paris is dumber than her reputation! I’m hoping for the former, natch! And not just because I like Paris!

The 24 year-old Cristiano Ronaldo, an effervescent Aquarius (like me), was born on the 5th of February 1985, on the small island of Madeira, a territory of Portugal, though he’s of Moroccan descent.

Among other honors, he’s been named PFA Young Player of the Year, PFA Player of the Year, PFA Fans' Premier Player of the Year, Portuguese Footballer of the Year, FWA Footballer of the Year, Sir Matt Busby Player of the Year, and Manchester United's Players' Player of the Year. Whew! What a mouthful! Ronaldo was more recently named FIFA World Player of the Year for 2008 and became the first Premier League player to get the award at a star-studded gala in Zurich. He scored forty-two goals last season alone.

In 2007, after being photographed wearing pink flowers in his hair while on vacation, according to Towleroad.com, he told the British tabloid The Sun: "I don’t know why people are so interested in what I wear on holiday. Last year, when I was in LA, everyone was talking about my tight trunks. Have you seen what people in LA wear? I was the most normal dressed person over there. Anyway, what’s wrong with wearing tight pants? They look good and it’s better than having tan lines down your legs. This year it was the pink hat with the flower. I don’t see what is wrong with it. I can see why, if you weren’t comfortable with your sexuality, you might not wear it. But I’m very comfortable so it’s not a problem for me. Men wear pink these days. OK, not many men wear flowers, but it’s good to be different."

Cristiano, who was born into a poor family, recently celebrated his new wealth by buying a £1,500,000 mansion in Cheshire and by driving a silver Porsche. The website www.zorsebol.com reported on June 6th that the soccer player was voted the “Ultimate Gay Icon,” but they failed to say when, where, or by whom. Nonetheless, I confer! Update: More research has revealed the title was bestowed upon the athlete by a British website, www.gaygolddiggers.uk.com, which conducted a poll of 3000 gay men. He was also just named the “Sexiest Man Alive” by Britain’s Gay Times magazine.

On a related note, one of Ronaldo’s gayzillion fan sites, www.cristiano-ronaldo.org, says his favorite color is white and his current girlfriend is none. Hmmm. I wonder if he has a current boyfriend!

That was a great interview of Adam Lambert on 20/20 June 12th, but I could’ve done without the segment that followed about Glen Beck. Just like Whoopi Goldberg, I cannot stand the guy. He claims to be neither Republican nor Democrat, but his views are ultra-conservative and over the edge, plus his constant yelling grates on my nerves. His top rated show is on Fox News and everyone knows that network is far from fair and balanced. Thank God I don’t have to watch the jerk! And I don’t. Not since he left CNN, where they now report the news in peace.

The Obama Administration is defending the frightening brief it filed day before yesterday in favor of DOMA (Defense of Marriage Act—which Obama promised to repeal when he courted the gay vote) with this statement: “As it generally does with existing statutes, the Justice Department is defending the law on the books in court. The president has said he wants to see a legislative repeal of the Defense of Marriage Act because it prevents LGBT couples from being granted equal rights and benefits. However, until Congress passes legislation repealing the law, the administration will continue to defend the statute when it is challenged in the justice system.”

Gay rights groups are outraged. I am outraged . . . and disappointed. What the hell is going on with this President anyway? One day he says he’s against discrimination and the next he’s defending the practice in court. I think I’m going to have an anxiety attack. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!
