Lady Gaga opened her Monster Ball Tour at the Bell Centre in Montreal Canada yesterday by rising out of a huge glass box while playing a keyboard and singing “Dance in the Dark” to a sold-out crowd of 12,300! It was obvious the Haus of Gaga had been hard at work preparing elaborate sets and costumes to give fans an out-of-the-ordinary concert experience, what she characterizes as “the world’s first multimedia pop-electro opera."
.
Although Lady Gaga was fashionably late, cheers erupted when the lights finally dropped just before 10 p.m. A giant screen lit up with a futuristic, glowing green grid until Gaga finally showed, long blond hair cascading down her shoulders, a glittery mask around her eyes.
Not one to disappoint, this picture shows Lady Gaga's unique metallic gold outfit complete with mask and shoes. 11-27-09 photo
She opened with one of her new songs, “Dance In the Dark,” from her new album The Fame Monster, before following with a string of tracks off last year's The Fame CD. See the set list below. A dazzling rendition of “Just Dance” found her rising on a platform while playing a keyboard as eight dancers in white bodysuits gyrated on the stage.
“LoveGame,” “Boys Boys Boys,”and “Alejandro” followed with one choreographed dance number after another.
Halfway through the concert Gaga stopped to talk with the crowd, joking and offering positive messages, including, "What matters is you can be whoever the f***k you want no matter what anybody tells you."

She then took her place at the piano and did a cabaret version of “Poker Face.” Although her only accompanying act, Kid Cudi, was late, he appeared toward the end to help her finish the song.
Earlier she had to forgo the duet of “Make Her Say,” when Kid Cudi was nowhere to be found.
Later, she dedicated the sentimental ballad “Speechless” to her dad, who was in the audience. He appeared more robust after undergoing heart surgery recently.
Next, Gaga donned a gold Cleopatra-inspired outfit, owning the stage. She crawled on top of her piano to perform “Money Honey.”

After more songs, she brought the audience to a swell by performing her original rendition of “Poker Face,” after encouraging them to join in, which they did with gusto.
During the evening, she slipped and fell a few times, but got back up on the horse and continued, without so much as missing a beat!
There was no shortage of costume changes, natch. She even wore her head gyroscope (orbit) while singing “Eh Eh!”
One of the last things she did was get a tattoo on stage in honor of her father. Check out the bottom video at the base of this post!
Lady Gaga then brought the show to a rousing climax with her new smash hit “Bad Romance.”

"The concert was so amazing! The set is absolutely incredible – it looks almost 3D, there are tons of screens, and the graphics almost make these sick optical allusions. She sounded amazing – she sang all live and was sensational – her set at the piano was breathtaking. In the end, I was surprised at how good she sounded live, especially with all of the intense choreography. She had such a great interaction with the audience, she had some great lines – she cried, she laughed, it was the whole package, and she took the crowd along with her. Not only was she adorable, cute, and very emotional about her fans and family, she also had some great words of liberation to offer. It was a very ambitious set list and performance, and overall it was great – way better than the Fame Ball tour. Great lights, sound, dancing, and a true performer – everything you would want!"

"She fell like 3 times and slipped like 10 times. She was like 'the floor is so slippery, I'm falling like a dumbbell runway model!' She was so cute. She cried a lot. Specially during 'Speechless.' The vocals were f*cking amazing. The crowd didn't know the lyrics to The Fame Monster songs! I was like singing alone! And she'd be like 'sing it!' and the crowd would be like 'blah blah blah.' I was disappointed about that. Her costumes were amazing. Specially the one for 'Fashion.' It was a gold suit with this gold hat. Very cool. The stage was like 3D. It was really cool. She talked to us a lot. And during 'Teeth,' she was like monstrously opening her mouth. Choreo was great. She didn't just do hand motions for 'Bad Romance.' She f*cking worked that choreo!"
